Too many bells and whistles, but that's a rant for another day. I think when I bought this machine Dell loaded it with a bunch of stuff I don't really want or need, like Microsoft Edge and other Microsoft products. At some point, I'll take the laptop to my university's help desk to see what I can do without. I think the Dell has too many extra things running in the background. Also, if the user is using a virtual background, see whether the problem improves when the virtual background is disabled. Click the dropdown next to Start video in the toolbar > Video Settings - Try reducing the camera resolution. I've stopped using my Dell for Zoom and rely instead on my Chromebook. If the issue is affecting multiple participants, check for the Service Status. In this case, clearing your web browser cache. You might also get some insight by checking the Task Manager, but that's not convenient if you're in or trying to join a meeting. If your web browser freezes or crashes while launching Zoom in it, your web browser’s cache might be the culprit. It hadn't installed correctly, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. When I did this, I found that I was also having problems with Adobe Acrobat. You should be able to find the times that Zoom stopped responding for you, and you can then check back through reports to see if there are other problems occurring at the same time. Some students join the meeting by only see a blank screen. Other times their mic works for a while and then just stops working. Some students join fine, but then their mic isn’t working which is sometimes resolved by leaving and rejoining the meeting. (You can do this by going to Control Panel>System and Security>Security and Maintenance>Problem Reports.) Another option is to check the Reliability Monitor. Some students aren’t able to join our embedded Zoom meetings. Please reply with the results of your ability to join the meeting. Lastly, have a colleague start a Zoom meeting and invite you to join it. This also happens when I open up specifically the audio section of the zoom settings. Check your computer's error log after this happens to see if you can find a report for a problem occurring at the time Zoom freezes on you. So when I try to join a zoom meeting it keeps crashing or it says zoom not responding in the task manager.
